Meet Ethan Lohr.

Ethan Lohr, CFP®, is a husband, father, and financial planner who helps retirees turn their savings into the life they’ve envisioned. As a partner at Lohr & Company, the Central Virginia firm founded by his father Greg Lohr more than 25 years ago, Ethan has spent his career guiding families through the emotional and practical challenges of retirement.

Watching clients wrestle with when and how to use the wealth they’ve worked a lifetime to build led Ethan and his father to create The Four Buckets Retirement Income Strategy®—a simple, behavior-proof framework for building confidence and freedom in retirement. What began as a whiteboard sketch became a movement to help people see their savings not as something to protect at all costs, but as a resource meant to be enjoyed and shared.

When he’s not writing or meeting with clients, Ethan enjoys time with his wife and their children—spending as much of it outside as possible, whether on the backyard trampoline or exploring some corner of Virginia’s beautiful landscape. He also loves to explore how Biblical stewardship shapes financial planning—honoring the Lord and serving others through the many ways we interact with and think about money.
